Monarchs Down Indiana State in Charleston Classic, 62-44

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Old Dominion men’s basketball team (3-1, 0-0 C-USA) defeated Indiana State (1-2, 0-0, MVC) by a 62-44 score in the Gildan Charleston Classic on Friday afternoon on John Kresse Court at TD Arena.

“After the Temple loss, we challenged our guys and they certainly responded well with an outstanding effort today,” said ODU head coach Jeff Jones. “Our defense was awesome and we did a good job on the boards. Ahmad Caver really broke through and had his best game of the year. This was a good team win for us.”

Ahmad Caver scored a game-high 22 points (9-11 FT’s), to go along with six assists, zero turnovers and three steals.
