Monarchs blank Charlotte in 7 innings

NORFOLK — Ryne Moore pitched a four-hit shutout Sunday, and Old Dominion rolled past Charlotte 10-0 in seven innings in the finale of a Conference USA baseball series as the Bud Metheny Complex.

Moore went the distance, striking out seven to improve to 4-0 as the Monarchs (13-5) picked up their first league win after dropping the first two games of the series.

Matt Burch provided Moore all the offense he needed with an RBI double to spark a three-run third inning.

Bryce Windham had three of the Monarchs’ 11 hits, and Tommy Bell hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning.
