Monarchs' baseball season ends with walk-off loss at Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday to beat Old Dominion in a Conference USA baseball game at J.C. Love Field.

ODU scored both of its runs in the fifth inning. Tommy Bell scored the first run on a double steal and then a throwing error by the catcher. Bryce Windham, who hit .500 for the series, then hit a two-out bunt single to score the second run.

The Bulldogs loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth after a hit by pitch, error and bunt single. Morgan Maguire then induced a lineout double play, the fourth twin-killing of the game for ODU (15-37, 7-22), but Hunter Wells, in the following at-bat, singled up the middle to plate two runs and tie the game.
