Old Dominion's Adam Bainbridge was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
He threw a complete-game, four-hitter in a 2-0 victory Saturday against Charlotte – the first shutout by a Monarchs pitcher since 2013. The senior left-hander (6-1, 1.31 ERA) is 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA in three conference starts. He hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his seven starts this season.
The Monarchs travel to Charlottesville to meet No. 25 Virginia at 5 p.m. Tuesday to open a five-game road trip. A game at VMI (Wednesday) follows before a weekend C-USA series at Middle Tennesse.
