Eighth-ranked Florida International scored three second-half goals Wednesday night en route to a 3-1 victory over Old Dominion in a Conference USA men’s soccer match.
The Monarchs suffered their first C-USA defeat of the season.
After a scoreless first half, Santiago Patino scored twice within about 12 minutes to give the Panthers (11-0-3, 6-0-1) a 2-0 lead.
Sebastian Hauret cut Old Dominion’s deficit in half in the 76th minute when he scored from 20 yards out off a free kick. It was his third goal of the season.
But FIU’s Alessandro Campoy scored the clincher in the 89th minute.
