NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Women’s Tennis Monarchs (5-4) upset No. 57 Harvard (5-6) by a 4-2 score on Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. This is the first time this season the Lady Tennis Monarchs went into a match unranked and with a chip on their shoulder they proved to be too much for the Crimson, who was the fifth ranked opponent ODU has faced already this year.
After splitting the first two doubles matches with Harvard, ODU’s Ingrid Vojcinakova and Marijana Novakovic displayed resilience when they battled back from a 2-5 deficit to take down Harvard’s Nikki Kallenberg and Isabel Jasper 7-6 (7-3).
