Florien Sondern scored the decisive goal in a stroke-off overtime period Wednesday as No. 19 James Madison beat No. 23 Old Dominion 3-2 in a non-conference field hockey game.
The Dukes outscored the Lady Monarchs 2-1 in the stroke-off, which came after two scoreless OTs.
Alexa Ostoich and Erin Huffman scored in the first half to give the Lady Monarchs (1-2) a 2-0 lead.
ODU plays Rutgers in College Park, Md., on Sunday.
