The Old Dominion University field hockey team hosted their season opener on Aug. 25 against Penn State at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. The Lady Monarchs drew a large crowd anticipating this matchup between the schools. The No. 23 ranked Lady Monarchs gave it their all, but ultimately fell to No. 7 Nittany Lions after their aggressive recharge in the second half.
“We played aggressively, we moved the ball really well on the field and we had some really good ball pattern so there were some real positives from an attacking standpoint.” said head coach Andrew Griffiths.
