Former Norcom standout Kyra Ricks scored a goal with 18 seconds to play in regulation Thursday night, helping Old Dominion force a 1-1 tie with UNC Wilmington in women’s soccer.
Ricks took Natalie Johnson’s pass and fired a shot from the left side that deflected off the goalkeeper’s hands and into the far side of the goal.
The teams played two scoreless overtime periods, with the Seahawks outshooting the Lady Monarchs 4-0.
ODU (2-2-2) hosts Western Kentucky at 7 p.m. next Friday to open Conference USA play. The match will be televised on the beIN Network on an hour delay.
