NORFOLK, Va. – Kyle Battle was named the VaSID All-State Baseball Player of the Year, while six Monarchs joined him on the all-state first team. Carter Trice, Tommy Bell, Andy Garriola, Hunter Gregory and Jason Hartline earned first-team honors along with Battle. Ryne Moore was named to the second team.
A first-team All-Conference USA performer, Battle led Conference USA and was tied for 16th in the nation with 18 homers, and also led the league and was tied for third in the country with 56 walks.
