NORFOLK, Va. - Holly Hutchinson of the Old Dominion women’s tennis team was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week, as announced by league officials on Wednesday.
Hutchinson took down a nationally ranked player, No. 123 Rosie Cheng, in straight sets in singles to help lift Old Dominion over No. 42 nationally ranked William & Mary in the regular season finale. Hutchinson is now 12-7 in the No. 1 singles slot for the Monarchs.
ODU is nationally ranked No. 42 and has won nine of their last 10 matches, outscoring opponents 57-7 during the stretch.
