BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Trey Freeman scored 34 of his career-high 42 in the second half to set the Conference USA tournament record for points in a game and help No. 5 seed Old Dominion beat Western Kentucky 89-77 Friday and advance to the championship game.
Old Dominion (22-12), which has won seven games in a row and 12 of its last 14, will face the winner of Marshall-Middle Tennessee for the title Saturday.
Freeman made 15 of 25 from the field, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range, and all of his eight free throws.
