At 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, Drelyn Ford is a two-sport standout at Franklin High – an all-region pick in football and the region Player of the Year in basketball.
Make no mistake, however, when it comes to college, Ford is of one mind.
“Yes, he plays both sports, but football is paying for college,” Franklin coach Darren Parker said.
Ford committed Thursday to play at Old Dominion, becoming the second member of the Monarchs’ 2019 recruiting class.
He’ll likely play tight end, although Parker believes Ford could play receiver or defensive end as well.
