NORFOLK, Va. – Four Old Dominion men’s soccer players were voted to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I 2017 All-Southeast Region Teams announced by the organization this week. Mertcan Akar was named to the First Team, while Fox Slotemaker, Niko Klosterhalfen, and Max Wilschrey were named to the Second Team.
Akar, who tallied 10 shutouts in his sophomore year, led the Monarchs to the 2017 C-USA Conference Championship. Akar was named to the C-USA First Team All-Conference as well as the recipient of the Golden Glove Award by the C-USA.
