Former Wilson star is playing a key role for ODU - and living up to her coach's demands

NORFOLK — With 3:11 to play in the second quarter Thursday, Taylor Edwards fed Amari Young under the basket to give Old Dominion a 16-point lead en route to a 78-59 win over Texas-El Paso.

It was the Monarchs’ fifth win in a row, all in Conference USA play, and their first such streak in the league in five seasons.

Forty-eight seconds after Young’s basket, Edwards passed to Aziah Hudson, who made a 3-pointer. Twenty-six seconds later, Edwards grabbed a rebound. Then, she hit a fallaway jump shot, was fouled, missed her free throw, but got her own rebound.
