When you're elected to a sports hall of fame, generally you go out and celebrate with family because it's a pretty big deal. In a sense, it bestows a measure of immortality.
Long after you're gone, people will see your name and perhaps your photo and learn about your exploits.
But when Old Dominion announced in September that former wrestling standout Jeff Rusak was one of the five newest members of its athletic hall of fame, he didn't celebrate.
Rusak was hunkered down on the bottom floor of a hotel while Hurricane Maria ravaged San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 155 mph winds and a 15-foot storm surge.
