NORFOLK, Va. – Five Monarchs scored in double-figures as the Old Dominion men’s basketball team downed Christopher Newport by a 101-46 score in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
“All around this was a good performance for us,” said ODU head coach Jeff Jones. “I really liked that we were able to get out and run in the open court. Now, we have four days until Towson and we have to keep making progress everyday.”
Randy Haynes paced the Monarchs with 17 points, while Xavier Green (16 points), Brandan Stith (14 points and 11 rebounds), Trey Porter (13 points) and Ahmad Caver (10 points, nine assists and no turnovers) joined Haynes in double-figures.
