Field Hockey Shuts Out Kent State, 1-0

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Old Dominion field hockey team held Kent State to just one shot and zero penalty corners en route to a 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at Michigan State's Ralph Young Field.

Erin Huffman's penalty-stroke goal in the 46th minute proved to be enough for Old Dominion (2-0), who has yet to allow a goal through two games this season.

"We didn't let them build the ball, which was great and a very positive thing," said head coach Andrew Griffiths. "I thought our defense really played well throughout the entire weekend.
