NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion field hockey team has paused all program-related activities due to a positive COVID-19 result among Tier 1 personnel. Tier 1 personnel include student-athletes, coaches, managers and support staff. The results were detected during regular coronavirus testing, which is conducted two times a week in accordance with BIG EAST Conference and NCAA guidelines.
As a result, the Monarchs' games with Providence on Saturday, March 13 and Sunday, March 14 have been postponed.
ODU follows conference, institutional and Virginia Department of Health protocols to prioritize the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches and staff and the community.
