I rocked Brad LaMontagne in my arms when he was a baby. Even then, he had a mesmerizing, joyous smile.
His mom was best friend to my daughter, Ginny. Because Ginny would often babysit Brad and older sister Alex, I saw a lot of him back then.
Brad is now 18 and a wrestler– a fine one, actually. With 126 career victories, he's No. 1 in South Hampton Roads and No. 2 in the state entering this week's regional tournaments.
I hadn't seen him in 17 years before recently going to Cox High School to watch him wrestle and interview him.
