HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Old Dominion men’s basketball team (9-6, 2-1 C-USA) fell in an overtime heartbreaker, 90-86, at Marshall (10-6, 3-0 C-USA) on Thursday night at the Cam Henderson Center. Both Ahmad Caver (26 points) and B.J. Stith (21 points) recorded career highs.
With no timeouts remaining and six seconds left in the game, Caver drove the entire length of the court and finished a reverse layup to send the contest into overtime.
Caver scored the first three points in overtime, before Marshall’s Austin Loop tied the game with a three, 80-80. Jordan Baker answered with a three-pointer of his own to give ODU another three-point lead, 83-80, with 3:28 left in OT.
