Cate Named to Ray Guy Award Watch List

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Old Dominion University junior punter Bailey Cate was named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List.

A native of Orange Park, Florida, Cate punted 66 times last year for a 40.5 yard average, including 25 punts that were fair caught and a long of 68. Cate had 17 punts downed inside the 20 and nine punts of more than 50 yards.

Cate earned C-USA All-Freshman honors in 2016, downing 25 punts inside the 20 with a long of 70.

Cate and the Monarchs open fall practice on Monday, Aug. 6.

About the Ray Guy Award The Augusta Sports Council created the Ray Guy Award in 2000 to honor Thomson, Georgia native and College and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Ray Guy.
