NEW YORK -- Old Dominion field hockey’s Meg Byas was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, as was announced by the conference on Friday. The senior from Driffield, England was one of just five players selected unanimously.
Byas, who has now been a preseason all-conference selection in back-to-back years, earned second team All-BIG EAST honors in 2015. The Lady Monarch back scored four goals and added seven assists while helping the team rank second in the league in goals-against average (1.86).
As a team, ODU was picked third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches’ Poll behind 2015 NCAA semifinalist Connecticut and newcomer Liberty.
