Will Morgan broke his bat on a RBI single with two outs in the eighth inning Sunday, and Old Dominion held on for a 2-1 over Florida Atlantic in the finale of a Conference USA baseball series at the Bud Metheny Complex.

Morgan Maguire turned in a quality start for ODU, giving up one run on five hits over 6.1 innings while striking out two. Norfolk Academy grad Isaiah Nelson retired two batters and Hunter Gregory (3-2), a Hickory High alum, held the Owls to one hit the rest of the way for the win.

FAU (15-5, 2-1) scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning and the Monarchs (8-11, 1-2) tied it on Tommy Bell's bases-loaded, two-out single in the seventh.
