Big Ten's Rutgers rallies past Old Dominion at the Bud

Rutgers scored two runs each in the seventh and eighth innings Friday to pull away for an 8-5 nonconfernce victory over Old Dominion in the opener of their three-game series at Bud Metheny Complex.

Catcher Kurt Sinnen, a former Kellam standout, hit a two-run single to the right side in the bottom of the first to give the Monarchs an early lead.

The Big Ten’s Scarlet Knights scored a run in the third, then pulled ahead with three runs – all with two out – in the fourth.

ODU scored twice in the fifth to pull even.
