CLEVELAND -- Old Dominion wrestler Kevin Beazley was named MAC Wrestler of the Week on Wednesday after posting a 5-0 record en route to a first-place finish at the Southeast Open in Roanoke, Virginia on Sunday.
In his first collegiate tournament since the 2015 NCAAs, the redshirt junior from Howell, Michigan racked up three major decision wins and two decisions over ranked foes.
Beazley's string of victories came against No. 18 Frank Mattiace of Penn, 6-3, in the quarterfinals and Army's 15th-ranked Rocco Caywood, 7-2, in the finals. He claimed first place in a field that included five top-20 ranked wrestlers.
