NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s soccer goalkeeper, sophomore Mertcan Akar (Cologne, Germany) was named Conference USA Defender of the Week on Monday.
In the conference win against FAU, Akar notched his second shutout of the 2017 season.
Akar, a transfer from Belmont University has played all 580 minutes in goal for the Monarchs. The sophomore has 18 saves and a .680% save percentage on the season.
