After the Oklahoma State football team's victory against Kansas, quarterback Spencer Sanders said he had a brace on his thumb as a precaution.
Well, it looks like it there is now more to the story.
Sanders will not play in the Cowboys' game against West Virginia on Saturday in Morgantown.
Sanders, a redshirt freshman, injured his thumb against Kansas and came out of the game midway through the third quarter.
Sanders will miss at least the rest of the regular season after having surgery on his thumb, per ESPN analyst Dusty Dvoracek.
With Sanders' injury, redshirt senior Dru Brown will make his first OSU start at quarterback.
