With broken record, wrestling might break barriers

On Feb. 12, 2013, the International Olympic Committee announced that wrestling would be eliminated from the 2020 Summer Olympics, enraging wrestling fans around the world. However, seven months later, the IOC decided to reinstate it.

Saturday, wrestling notched another milestone in the reemergence of the sport when 42,287 fans packed their way into Kinnick Stadium to witness a wrestling first: a dual held on a football field.

No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Iowa, two of the most historic wrestling programs in the history of college sports, clashed on a mat located in the south end zone.
