Why Doug Meacham, OSU players call compeitive loss to Baylor a 'building block'

Doug Meacham wishes the result on the scoreboard could have been different.

But he’s optimistic in what his Cowboys can do going forward.

On Saturday, Meacham coached his first game as Oklahoma State’s interim head coach since the firing of Mike Gundy, a major midseason shakeup that happened Tuesday.

The Cowboys played with energy and delivered one of their best offensive products this season. Meacham and OSU players think they took a step in the right direction.

The Cowboys were defeated by Baylor 45-27, dropping to 1-3 on the season, but were within one score with 5:22 left in the third quarter and had a couple of chances to flip the game in their favor.
