Oklahoma State has hired Mike Boynton as its next head coach, the school announced on Friday. Boynton, who has never been a head coach, has served as an assistant at South Carolina, and also served on Brad Underwood’s staff at Stephen F. Austin and Oklahoma State as an assistant coach.
Boynton will be introduced as head coach on Monday.
In a prepared statement, Athletic Director Mike Holder spoke glowingly about Underwood’s successor, saying they viewed the job from the same perspective. Here’s some quotes from the release. Boynton also spoke to his excitement after landing the job.
