HOUSTON — Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State’s consistency should be recognized.
After defeating Texas A&M 31-23 in the 2023 TaxAct Texas Bowl, the Cowboys won their 10th game of the season for the eighth time in the Gundy era. It was also his 12th bowl win, behind just five coaches in college football history.
OSU’s recruiting budget was Power Five’s smallest, but when you’re comparing wins in the 21st century, the Cowboys are among blue bloods. Yet, the standard hasn’t resulted in hardware. OSU has one Big 12 championship (2011) and two New Year's Six bowl wins in 19 seasons.
