Thompson has game-high five RBI as Cowboys dominate Little Rock

Playing baseball in the cold winter wind isn’t a problem for Jake Thompson.

Thompson, a junior third baseman for Oklahoma State, grew accustomed to chilly games during his high school days in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Once, snow blanketed the infield, and the outdoor temperature had dropped to about 20 degrees, he remembered.

Because of those experiences, a blustery day with a high of 42 couldn’t faze him when he stepped up to bat at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. Thompson was a driving force for the Cowboys’ offense as they throttled Little Rock 12-0 in a seven-inning run-rule game Wednesday afternoon.
