New faces and a new roster doesn’t mean a new culture.
Oklahoma State players and coaches frequently emphasizes its “Cowboy Culture." Multiple sports have adapted the phrase, eventually becoming the standard for the athletic department.
Dustin Taylor, OSU men's tennis first-year coach, is quickly learning about the Cowboy Culture.
“It has been an adjustment,” Taylor said. “But the coaches around me have helped me understand the meaning of the Cowboy Culture and what it means to be an Oklahoma State Cowboy or Cowgirl.”
When recruiting, Taylor looks for players who fit his style, mesh with his current roster, players who are leaders and ones who stick to their morals.
