Mitchell Stone, a redshirt freshman pitcher on the Oklahoma State baseball team, broke his foot almost one year ago in a series against Arizona State.
Three hundred and sixty-three days after his injury, Stone made his third start of the season against Iowa.
After giving up one run, Stone proceeded to pitch five consecutive scoreless innings.
His scoreless innings, however, were not enough as the Cowboys lost to the Hawkeyes 3-2 on Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Throughout the series, No. 19 OSU constantly struggled to score runs and get hits.
Early in the game, the Hawkeyes (6-4) did both after getting two singles and proceeded to score a run off a wild pitch.
