It’s hard not to boast when you throw 13 strikeouts and only allow two hits in a pivotal Super Regional game.
Unless you’re Kelly Maxwell, of course.
“I was raised just to be humble and to keep my emotions to myself,” Maxwell said.
Maxwell and the Cowgirls (7) defeated the Clemson Tigers (10) 2-0 in the first game of the Stillwater Super Regional, giving them a 1-0 lead in the series and a step closer to Oklahoma City.
Coming into this game, the Tigers hadn’t allowed a run in the postseason, as they posted three shutouts in the regional round last weekend in Clemson, SC.
