Solomon helps OSU survive and advance to second round of NIT

STILLWATER — Mitchell Solomon's final competitive basketball game will come sometime this month.

It could be in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Los Angeles and New York are other potential final destinations for Solomon's career.

But if he ever chooses to pursue a career internationally, Solomon proved Tuesday night he's got the range.

In the third quarter of Oklahoma State's 80-68 victory over Florida Gulf Coast in the first-round NIT matchup, Solomon, the Cowboys' senior forward, scored seven straight points for the Cowboys.

“I think it's kind of a natural thing,” coach Mike Boynton said. “I can vividly remember as a senior, ‘At some point I'm going to take this jersey off and I'm not going to get to put it on.
