Seniors play emotional last game, Cowboys exit NIT

A misty-eyed Mitchell Solomon lumbered into the press room and took a deep breath.

As he faced the rows of orange chairs and pulled a seat from behind the press conference table, he made a statement.

“I’m about to get emotional, so if you guys could make me look good while I’m crying, I’d appreciate it,” Solomon said.

Solomon played his last game for the Oklahoma State men’s basketball team on Wednesday night. The Cowboys dropped a quarterfinal National Invitational Tournament game to Western Kentucky 92-84 in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The fourth-seeded Hilltoppers will travel to Madison Square Garden for the NIT’s Final Four, but second-seeded OSU’s season is done.
