As he walked back to the dugout after his first outing of 2017, Trey Cobb was given the freshman treatment.
Teammates greeted Cobb with congratulations and praise after the senior right-hander made his first appearance of the season in Oklahoma State’s 5-3 loss to West Virginia on Saturday. He pitched 1 1/3 innings in his return from a broken bone in his right elbow, exiting with a runner on third that scored later in the seventh inning.
“I felt like a freshman,” Cobb said. “I end up giving up a run in that last inning, but I come in the dugout, and everyone’s like, ‘Great job.
