Second half drought too much for Cowgirls to overcome

In basketball, scoring runs are rarely without their droughts.

Both the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team and Kansas state figured this out as the two teams faced off on Tuesday night in Stillwater.

But in the end, OSU’s (15-14 overall, 6-11 Big 12) drought lasted just a little too long.

KSU (15-13, 9-8) defeated OSU 62-52 on OSU’s Senior Night in a game that was ultimately decided in the second half.

Going into halftime, OSU led 29-24, but the Cowgirls’ defense in the last 20 minutes of the game allowed KSU to score 38 points, while only scoring 23 themselves.
