The prodigal son returns.
In the current decade, only two Mr. Texas Football award winners played at a college outside of Texas: Ohio State’s Dontre Wilson in 2012 and Oklahoma State’s Spencer Sanders in 2014.
It’s been almost two years since Sanders played a snap of football in the state of Texas. His last was on December 17, 2017, against Highland Park in the Texas 5A state semifinals at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
On Saturday, Sanders will return to his home state to face Texas in Austin.
