Some friendships get passed down from parents to their kids.
Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph has a similar friendship with North Carolina basketball forward Luke Maye. Maye hit the winning shot with 0.3 seconds left against Kentucky to send UNC to the Final Four on Sunday.
Rudolph’s father, Brett, and Maye’s father, Mark, were college roommates at UNC where they played football. Rudolph, from Rock Hill, South Carolina, said the families have been close since, and he was ecstatic when Maye hit the shot last Sunday.
“I was freaking out on my couch, man,” Rudolph said.
