Tensions boiled over on the Miami Dolphins sideline Sunday after a controversial tripping penalty involving rookie running back Ollie Gordon, the former Oklahoma State star who has quickly become a fan favorite in Miami.
The incident unfolded late in the first half against the Baltimore Ravens, when the Dolphins appeared to have broken off a huge play that would have set them up deep inside the Ravens’ 10-yard line. But the excitement quickly turned to frustration when officials threw a flag on Gordon for tripping Ravens linebacker Mike Green, wiping out the gain and backing Miami up 10 yards.
