Report: Mike Gundy fired as Oklahoma State football coach

Oklahoma State football will hire a football coach for the first time in 20 years.

On Tuesday, OSU fired coach Mike Gundy, effective immediately, according to Robert Allen of Pokes Report. Gundy was in his 21st season as the Cowboys' coach.

OSU is 1-2 on the season and suffered an upset loss to Tulsa on Friday.

Gundy, 58, has spent more than half of his life at OSU in some capacity. Before he wore a headset and became the winningest coach in school history, Gundy arrived on campus after winning the Oklahoma Player of the Year award for quarterbacking Midwest City High School.
