OSU's offense provided signs of improvement in spite of loss to Cyclones

At first glance, Saturday’s contest between Oklahoma State and Iowa State didn't look pretty.

Two programs in the bottom tier of offensive rankings in the Big 12 (OSU at No. 11 and Iowa State at No. 14) clashing in the conference opener. In last season's outing, OSU and ISU combined for 34 points at Boone Pickens Stadium in an OSU win. The over/under for Saturday’s contest was at 36.5 before kickoff.

But that spread was surpassed. However, it was the Cyclones that prevailed at Jack Trice Stadium, downing the Cowboys 34-27.

But this time, offensive woes that had plagued OSU over its past 10 games, in which the unit averaged only 17 points a game, were improved.
