The Cowboys went up to Northern Iowa Saturday night to kick off a two-dual Big 12 road trip vs. the Panthers and Iowa State.
They felt the sting of missing Trevor Mastrogiovanni early, as Kyle Gollhofer majored Zach Blankenship to open the dual. Daton Fix got the Cowboys back in the win column with an 8-1 decision over Big 12 finalist Kyle Biscoglia.
Carter Young had the upset of the night for the Cowboys, taking out 8th-ranked Cael Happel. Young got up big early taking a 12-1 lead into the second period. Happel clawed back a bit with a few takedowns but Young held on for a 15-7 major decision.
