It was a tough Sunday in Gallagher-Iba for the Cowboys as they took their first loss of the season to Minnesota 18-15.
The dual delivered some early fireworks at 165. Andrew Sparks gave Wyatt Sheets fits early with a few takedowns to go up 4-2 into the second period. Sheets scraped together a bit of a comeback and looked like he might have it completed when he picked up a called takedown with about 30 seconds left in the third. But after a challenge from Minnesota, the takedown was overturned and Sheets fell 5-4.
Dustin Plott tied the dual back up 3-3 with a comfortable 10-5 decision.
