OSU wrestling earns eight All-America selections

STILLWATER — Three Oklahoma State wrestlers earned first-team All-America distinction and five more earned additional recognition from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

OSU wrestlers were honored as All-Americans at eight of the 10 weight classes, led by 125-pound senior Nick Piccininni, 149-pound junior Boo Lewallen and 165-pound freshman Travis Wittlake, who were first-team selections by the NWCA.

In a typical year, All-America selections are based on wrestlers’ performance at the NCAA championships. But with the event canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, selections were made based on the wrestlers’ overall body of work through the dual season and conference tournaments.
