Troy Spratley avenged two of his five losses from last season.
As part of Oklahoma State’s 34-3 dual win against West Virginia on Sunday in Morgantown, No. 8 Spratley bested No. 7 Jett Strickenberger 6-2 in the dual’s main event.
After Spratley beat Strickenberger two seasons ago, Strickenberger bested the reigning national runner-up in their two meetings last season, the first a pin in their dual and the second in the Big 12 final.
But Spratley controlled Strickenberger from start to finish Sunday. He scored a first-period takedown and rode it out to take a 3-0 lead into the second.
