OSU women's basketball: Former Texas star provided family inspiration for Diana Omozee

STILLWATER — Diana Omozee's first love was soccer, but as she grew older, the Texas teenager had a role model who led her to the hardwood.

Omozee — who scored a Cowgirl career-high 16 points on Wednesday in an 88-70 Oklahoma State home win against TCU — is the cousin of former Texas star Nneka Enemkpali, the 26th overall pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft. Enemkpali, like Omozee, has family roots in Nigeria. Omozee was born in the city of Lagos and moved from western Africa to Austin, Texas, at just 9-months-old.

Enkampali went on to become a basketball force with Pflugerville High School, then the Longhorns, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior in 2014 with 13 double-doubles on the season.
